Visit from Bolivia at the FAFR

On 5th April 2019 a meeting of representatives from the Bolivian Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno in Santa Cruz took place at the Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Resources under the direction of Vice-Rector Ing. Robert C. Quevedo Soperi. In appointment with the Dean doc. Ondrišík and Vice-Dean Ing. Gažo were discussed the possibilities of scientific and study cooperation between the both institutions. The University of Santa Cruz is one of the largest in Bolivia and among its faculties is the sister Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. The visit is the result of the existing successful cooperation of the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding with the countries of Central and South America. The research is devoted to the genetic characteristics of plant food and pharmacological resources, originated in South America, and it is one part of the department's research activities under the leadership of doc. Žiarovská in cooperation with prof. Eloy C. Fernandéz from Czech University of Agriculture in Prague. The joint meeting will be completed by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation and expanding joint research, as well as creating a background for academic exchange mobility.
