by

Scientists from Department od Animal Genetics and Breeding Biology as representative of Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Resources SUA Nitra attended in Bosna and Herzegovina , 8th international agricultural symposium AGROSYM, which was held in beautiful area of Jahorina Mountains, Sarajevo (winter Olympic games 1984)

Annually, symposium attends more than 1000 participants with papers aimed on diverse branches of agriculture. This year, 245 oral presentations were accepted, with more than 1000 posters, divided into 14 thematic sessions. Diversity of papers is represented by 13 animal species and numerous plant species and varieties applied according to research aims. Intensity of programme was upgraded by plenary session presentations and expert presentations of advertising companies and overall very interesting discussions about papers presented in sessions.

Morning program of the Animal husbandry session started Ing. Nina Moravčíková, PhD. by explaining use of molecular genetic data in analyses aimed at genetic improvement of cattle. In the next presentation, Ing. Michal Vlček presented estimates of genetic parameters influencing dairy cows ‘claw formation and Ing. Veronika Kukučková, PhD. , who presented comparison of use of different genetic markers and bio-statistical methods suitable for animal genetic resources protection. Evening programme was filled with poster session, where was successfully presented broader area of our research by posters of prof. Ing. Anna Trakovická, CSc., prof. Ing. Ondrej Kadlečík, CSc., doc. Ing. Radovan Kasarda, PhD. We are glad that  poster „GENETIC DIVERSITY IN SLOVAK SPOTTED BREED, by Ondrej KADLEČÍK, Eva HAZUCHOVÁ, Nina MORAVČÍKOVÁ, Veronika KUKUČKOVÁ, Radovan KASARDA“ was evaluated by expert commission and awarded as „Best Poster Award“. This year we didn’t received „best theatre“, but this is impulse for us to improve in the future years

Output from submissions presented on symposium will be papers selected according to quality and published in different international scientific journals. In the future we would like to become co-organizer of the symposium, therefore doc. Ing. Radovan Kasarda, PhD. has been proposed to become representative in the organization committee. In present organization committee has members from 14 countries and scientific committee 36.

Presence on the symposium was possible due to financial support of Slovak Agency for Science and Research (APVV-14-0054) and Scientific Agency of Ministry of Education (VEGA 1/0742/17).
